It is difficult to see the black swan, which is a bit lost in this photo (centre of picture), but I took it because it evoked this feeling of sadness. He looked so lonely, in the middle of this bleak river...on a freezing cold winters day.

This Wattle tree is just starting to flower as we head for spring
and a massive flood of water sweeps down the river.
It is difficult to see on this smaller version, but when viewing this
photo enlarged, the water looks like a cola slushy.

The Western Tiers
October 1st, 2012.
One month of spring has past and there is still a little snow on the tiered mountains.
The air was fresh but the Tasmanian birds were whistling a happy chorus in this peaceful setting.

Update; currently under new management and all of these treasures are gone!
I was amazed when I first visited the tip. What an fascinating place.
From when you drive in the entrance, which has a large collection of pre-loved garden gnomes along the embankment, to inside the shop.
It has an interesting agglomeration of junk, accumulated over many years.
Even the tips name...'trash transformers'...is fun!
I think the reason I found this so interesting is because where I lived in Western Australia if I unloaded stuff at the tip it was all pounded to a pulp no matter how good it was.
